Juliana Nascimento Named Recipient of 2024 Women in Supply Chain Award
Optimal Dynamics’ Chief Analytics Officer honored as a trailblazer for two decades of innovation in supply chain logistics.
Food Logistics, the only publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global cold food supply chain, and Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the only publication covering the entire global supply chain, named Juliana Nascimento as one of the winners of this year’s Women in Supply Chain Award, which honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company’s supply chain network.
Juliana Nascimento, Chief Analytics Officer at Optimal Dynamics, has been a pioneering force in the field of supply chain logistics for nearly two decades. Her extensive research into solving complex logistical challenges through advanced statistics and probability concepts has laid the groundwork for numerous innovative solutions that have transformed the industry.
Academically, Juliana is known for her work on Approximate Dynamic Programming, where she has produced a unique mathematical proof of convergence for solving a class of problems whose applications range from energy to finance, transportation and supply chain. In industry, Juliana has delivered various successful initiatives around SKU portfolio optimization, footprint optimization, inventory and cash conversion cycle reduction, and truckload network optimization. Juliana possesses a rare combination of skills that range from the deeply mathematical to the highly practical, having navigated between top-level research, pragmatic deliverables, and successful team leadership.
A trailblazer in the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize carrier networks, Juliana has developed cutting-edge algorithms and models that significantly enhance efficiency and optimize network profitability for many of the Top 500 For Hire Carriers. Her work in AI has not only streamlined operations but also set new standards for the integration of technology in supply chain management.
